The emergence of the TransBIB cooperation network

In 2021, a steadily growing group of clusters and networks within the industrial bioeconomy developed the concept of a cooperation and knowledge transfer network. The aim was to link the numerous activities scattered across Germany, making their knowledge accessible and usable for stakeholders from industry and academia. The focus is on cooperation and harnessing the diverse potential for synergy: utilising the best available technologies, pooling expertise, exchanging experiences and skills, and fostering collaboration. The concept was submitted to the BMWK in 2022 for funding. Following a peer review and further refinements, funding of over €5.5 million was approved in 2023 for a three-year period.

Strengthening the industrial bioeconomy – discovering funding opportunities

Innovative bioeconomy solutions are already available – the task now is to bring them into industrial use. The ‘Industrial Bioeconomy’ funding programme run by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) supports precisely this step: from the further development and scaling up of bio-based products and processes to the construction of demonstration plants and the establishment of innovation clusters.

TransBIB provides information on suitable funding opportunities and supports you every step of the way towards the successful implementation of your bioeconomy project.
