Neo.Bio.Net-Oberlausitz

Neo.Bio.Net Oberlausitz is the central hub for the plant-based bioeconomy in Lusatia.

Our network acts as a hub connecting business, academia, local authorities, society and supra-regional alliances to accelerate the transition to a regionally rooted bioeconomy – across the entire value chain – from raw materials to market-ready products. Our objectives are guided both by overarching strategies (sustainability and bioeconomy goals) and by specific regional needs (structural change, harnessing untapped potential).

Neo.Bio.Net Oberlausitz occupies a distinct position thanks to its clear profile (plant-based, regional, with a focus on wood and fibre). It acts as a network bridging gaps and creating interfaces: between wood and fibre initiatives, between digital agricultural innovation and traditional forestry/agriculture, and between Saxony’s central clusters and the peripheral Lusatia region. Its unique selling point is its focus on regional, plant-based value creation – from raw materials (forest & field) through processing (fibre, composites, bioplastics) to the end product and its marketing – accompanied by a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.
