The Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 (GBS 2026) is the world’s leading international forum for the bioeconomy. It will bring together leading figures from politics, academia, business and civil society at the Convention Centre Dublin on 20 and 21 October 2026.

The key aspects of the summit
Objective: The aim is to demonstrate how sustainable, bio-based innovations can be transferred from research into practice and scaled up globally in order to tackle pressing crises.
Key themes: Solutions for climate action, food security, biodiversity loss, and the establishment of a functioning circular economy and sustainable food systems.
Policy framework: As Ireland holds the EU Council Presidency at this time, there is a strong focus on new European and Irish bioeconomy strategies, as well as the launch of the new Bio-based Europe Alliance (BEA).
Vision for the future: The summit concludes with a forward-looking dialogue on the Bioeconomy Vision 2040, which outlines how bio-based systems can become the global standard.
