Industrial biotechnology – Micro-organisms as the key to a functioning circular economy
On 24 September 2026, the 3rd Industrial Biotechnology Symposium will take place at the Pirmasens campus of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences.
The event will focus on the regional collaborative project Waste2Value (W2V). It will showcase current research and proposed solutions that demonstrate how microorganisms can contribute to the recovery of waste materials and the promotion of a circular economy.
The programme includes specialist talks from academia and industry, as well as short presentations by the W2V sub-projects on the current status of their research. In addition, panel discussions and networking opportunities provide a forum for professional exchange and collaboration between the research community and industry.
Participation is free of charge. The event is aimed at representatives from industry, academia and other organisations with an interest in industrial biotechnology, the circular economy and sustainable innovation.
