SynBioReactor 2027

The SynBio Reactor Summit is a summit for start-ups and investors in the field of synthetic biology. It will take place on 19 and 20 January 2027 in Berlin. The event is organised by the GASB (German Association for Synthetic Biology) and BioBeyond. Over the two days, there will be pitches, panel discussions, workshops and networking opportunities for founders, investors, researchers and industry representatives. Over 200 participants are expected to attend.

Format: The programme is structured like a landscape. Four ‘island stages’ each represent a core theme:

• Plant: Plant and crop engineering, agtech, photosynthesis

• Pharmaceuticals: Therapeutics, ATMPs, platform biotech

• Food: Fermentation, novel foods, cultured protein

• Materials: biomaterials, enzyme design, tonne-scale production

In addition, there is the Main Stage featuring keynote speeches, the pitch final and the closing ceremony, as well as the Forum with workshops, an open mic session and an unconference. Seven cross-cutting themes will be covered across all stages: regulation, resilience & defence, market & traction, start-ups & translation, scaling, the future and AI.
