TransBIB and European initiatives

TransBIB connects with Europe

Why TransBIB is also looking to other European countries

The industrial bioeconomy is a key topic for sustainable economic development. Pioneering projects in this field are being driven forward not only in Germany, but also in many neighbouring European countries. In order to put the transfer of knowledge and technology on a broader footing, it is worth looking beyond national borders. This is precisely what the TransBIB project is pursuing with its international perspective.

International networking as a success factor

TransBIB has set itself the task of systematically mapping bioeconomy initiatives and competence regions in Germany's neighbouring countries. It became clear that numerous outstanding players and networks with valuable competences and infrastructures can make a decisive contribution to accelerating the bioeconomy transfer.

In order to make these resources visible and accessible, TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH (TRK) has specifically analysed and portrayed top international ecosystems of the industrial bioeconomy. Key players, networks, infrastructures and compact information on the respective regions are presented here in the form of detailed fact sheets.

Sharing knowledge, promoting cooperation

"The mapping shows regional initiatives with their focus on technologies and resources. This allows stakeholders to be addressed in a targeted and simple manner. The visualisation also provides valuable pointers for our own strategic orientation. The great interest in TransBIB and the cooperation with our network is particularly pleasing," says Lenz Sulzer from TRK GmbH.

The results of the international analysis will be published gradually. The aim is to create synergies, initiate cooperation and promote bioeconomy transfer throughout Europe;
