OSS data protection
TransBIB-OSS-ChatBot
Our web servers for the operation of the website are located in Nuremberg. The software and databases used to operate the chatbot are hosted on a server in Falkenstein/Vogtland. We use the services of Hetzner Online GmbH to host these servers.
The bot accesses all data from the TransBIB one-stop shop and processes it to provide information for the user.
The AI model is hosted on a server in St. Ghislain, Belgium by Google. Ghislain, Belgium by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
A data processing agreement has been concluded with all subcontractors in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Data of the One-Stop-Shop
The following databases and services of the One-Stop-Shop contain personal data that have been contributed to the One-Stop-Shop by TransBIB project participants:
1.) Competence pool and bioeconomy topics: Provadis University is responsible for this data.
2.) Database on scaling infrastructure: The Industrial Biotechnology Cluster is responsible for this data.

Analytics
We use web analytics methods to obtain information about the use of our one-stop shops. These are used to detect misuse, optimise our offers and obtain reliable figures for the use of the offers, e.g. as justification to the project sponsor.
We use Pirsch Analytics, Pirsch Emvi Software GmbH, for web analysis. Pirsch Analytics is a cookie-free web analytics software developed according to the principle of privacy by design. To analyse visitor flows, Pirsch Analytics uses a hash algorithm to generate a 16-digit number as a visitor ID when a page is requested. The IP address, the user agent, the date and a salt are used as input values.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights under the GDPR with regard to your personal data processed by us:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Revocation of your consent: If the processing is based on your consent, you can revoke it at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out until the withdrawal.
Right to lodge a complaint: You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.
