Diversity has its price
Knowledge is fragmented and in some cases only accessible to insiders. The lack of clarity about competences, new technologies and processes or solution providers in the R&D sector hinders the rapid and targeted transfer of solutions into industrial practice and thus into value creation. Complementary competences do not come together and potential synergies through cooperation are not utilised.
In 2021, a steadily growing group of industrial bioeconomy clusters and networks developed the approach of a cooperation and transfer network. The aim was to network the many activities scattered throughout Germany, to make their knowledge accessible and usable for players from industry and science. The focus is on cooperation and the use of the diverse synergy potential: using the best available technologies, pooling expertise, sharing experience and skills, cooperation. The concept was proposed to the BMWK for funding in 2022. After an expert review and further iteration, funding for 3 years with over EUR 5.5 million was approved in 2023.
