Short online training course on the biologisation of industry: Provadis in dialogue with experts

On 13 November 2025, a short online training course was held with Provadis trainers as part of the TransBIB project. The aim of the event was to raise awareness among trainers about the topic of biologisation of industry and to discuss how relevant content could be integrated into training.

The event included a series of expert presentations that provided both theoretical insights and practical examples. Dr Manfred Kircher discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with the transition to bio-based resources in industrial processes. Antonius Schröder then presented how new skills can be introduced into training and what obstacles may arise in the process. Interactive Mentimeter surveys accompanied the training and enabled the trainers to contribute their assessments and perspectives.

Findings from the workshop: A specific customer order is required for a comprehensive adaptation of training at Provadis. Due to time constraints, soft skills cannot be fully integrated on a large scale. Nevertheless, initial approaches are emerging: existing internships could be converted to a bio-based format in order to highlight the challenges of the new processes and make the change visible.

What happens next? TransBIB is in constant and intensive dialogue with Provadis trainers. Based on this dialogue, concrete proposals are being developed jointly to convert fossil-based experiments to bio-based alternatives. Another focus of the dialogue is the development and implementation of additional and optional qualifications.
