The competence region combines a rural area used for agriculture and forestry with a strong industrial location in Schwedt/Oder with established bioeconomic business models in the production of paper products based 100% on waste paper and biorefineries for the production of fuels, which offers optimal growth conditions for the scale-up of promising technologies.
In the Startup Lab Schwedt, we therefore offer young companies the opportunity to work together with established industrial companies as part of our Startup Challenges and to receive a budget for the realisation of a pilot project in Schwedt.
With the Eberswalde site, the competence region also has an innovative location and a high level of expertise in the area of resource transition. Various specialist disciplines are conducting research here into strategies to continuously replace fossil raw materials with sustainable alternatives in future value creation cycles, taking biodiversity and environmental protection goals into account.
