Bioeconomy databases
The data collection is a tool developed by TransBIB to make existing and processed knowledge more visible and to visualise the quality and potential area of application of the information.
The data collection currently comprises around 70 entries and is being continuously expanded. The entries include, for example, databases on the availability of raw materials or material properties, both from a research and user perspective. However, it also includes entries that refer to helpful online tools or portals that offer various support services in the field of bioeconomy. - So it's worth browsing!
We are currently working intensively on the final implementation with interactive integration into the website. As a small teaser, you will find below a first insight into selected contents of the data collection (not complete!). For a better overview, the collected entries are thematically categorised and quantified in the figure below.

Data collection I Category Biomass:
13 of the entries deal with biomass in different ways, 5 of them focussing on the raw material wood alone. Particularly noteworthy here are the databases of the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) and the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR). The EU Biomass Potential Atlas (DBFZ) provides a good overview of the theoretical raw material potential from national to regional level via spatial visualisation, for example. The DE Biomass Monitor (DBFZ) also provides information on possible products and markets. For the raw material wood, a look at the recently published results of the 4th National Forest Inventory is recommended. The FNR's compilations already build a bridge to the economy category, e.g. with an interactive overview of the development of raw material prices.

Data collection I Products category:
In the category Products, but also Processing, the majority of the entries recorded deal with bioplastics and the corresponding material properties. The project-related InnProBio page also provides a general overview of bio-based products and their manufacturers. Various tools for the implementation of bio-based procurement are also provided.

Data collection I Company category:
There are currently 11 entries in the Companies category, some of which overlap with other categories. These are mainly interdisciplinary company databases or portals that refer to various bioplastics manufacturers, for example. The Europages site, for example, a freely accessible and free B2B portal, would be interesting for an initial overview. Although this is not limited purely to players in the bioeconomy, it makes it possible to search for potential suppliers or customers.
