TransBIB – Boost. Industrial. Bioeconomy.

Offerings

TransBIB offers comprehensive support and access to information for bioeconomy stakeholders. A central “one-stop shop” is used to record and network infrastructures throughout Germany. In addition, TransBIB helps with the development of new bio-based value chains, the networking of experts and offers practical support with regulatory issues and certifications. Companies can also take part in specialised training courses and use transformation strategies to secure their competitiveness in the bioeconomic transition.

1. inventory of the "one-stop shop" bioeconomy

Knowledge on the bioeconomy has so far been very scattered and fragmented. TransBIB is conducting a Germany-wide inventory of industrial sites, scaling infrastructures and databases and making these available to all stakeholders via a new “one-stop shop”. These include, for example (excerpt):

  • DBFZ resource database (biomass potential)
  • Pilots4U (pilot and scaling plants in Europe)
  • BRENDA (enzymes)

Would you like to use databases or make your own databases available, do you have further questions about the one-stop shop?

Please contact Dennis Herzberg & Dr Markus Müller (transbib@clib-cluster.de)

2. development and evaluation of new bio-based value chains

In TransBIB, a digital tool is used to record and develop existing material flows and processing technologies and competences in order to develop new value creation networks. To this end, results from previous projects are utilised and applied in participating competence regions. The new value chains will be assessed for their feasibility and sustainability. Implementation concepts will then be developed across the board with the support of the competence regions.

Are you interested in developing new value creation options?

Contact persons are Dennis Herzberg & Dr Markus Müller (transbib@clib-cluster.de)

3. nationwide "bottom-up" networking of the bioeconomy regions and their stakeholders

TransBIB promotes the active networking of example regions of the industrial bioeconomy, regional clusters and networks. Their multifaceted nature and broad thematic portfolio harbours enormous knowledge and economic potential. The diverse competences and expertise are to be made visible and usable nationwide and internationally. Solutions are to find their users and cooperation projects are to be developed.

Your contacts for networking and cooperation are Romann Glowacki & Dr Matthias Scholz (transbib@tum.de)

4. setting up a pool of expertise and a matching platform

Germany has broad and in-depth expertise in all areas of the bioeconomy. In order to make this knowledge visible and usable in a targeted manner, a competence pool is being created as part of TransBIB: a central point of contact for experts who would like to offer their expertise and contribute to the further development of the bioeconomy.
In addition, a matching platform is being set up that acts as a moderated marketplace for advertisements. Not only requests for cooperation can be placed here, but also offers and requests for materials such as raw materials, intermediates or technological solutions. The aim is to efficiently bring together specific needs and offers - whether in terms of personnel, materials or technology.

Become part of a lively network!
Register in the competence pool without obligation and actively contribute your expertise. Or use the matching platform to find specific cooperation partners or customers.

If you have any questions or would like to network in a targeted manner, send us a contact request - we will be happy to help you find suitable contacts from our pool of expertise.

5. easy access to regulatory and certification topics

TransBIB will provide easy access to certification for companies and stakeholders and develop proposals to simplify the process. The basis is a broad-based stakeholder dialogue with certifiers, auditors and companies from bioeconomy sectors.
Regulatory barriers to the transformation to a circular bioeconomy are systematically recorded and addressed.

Contact person for regulations and certifications is Stefan Majer (stefan.majer@dbfz.de)

6. training the professionals of the future

The transition of all economic sectors to bio-based, circular systems requires special skills for industry specialists. TransBIB is developing industry-specific training concepts to counteract a shortage of skilled labour in Germany and enable a knowledge-based transformation. Knowledge and expert skills are imparted in workshop formats in order to bring specialist expertise to companies. Partnerships and joint projects are the key to new concepts and value chains.
Are you a future thinker yourself who wants to learn about new materials and technologies? Do you want to bring knowledge about innovative approaches into your company? Then get in touch with us and attend our industry workshops.

7. company analysis: transformation strategies for a bio-based economy

Biologisation offers companies both strategic and concrete competitive advantages. Rising energy and raw material prices, CO2 certificates and increasing regulatory hurdles are increasing competitive pressure.
With TransBIB, we offer an in-depth analysis of your company, jointly develop suitable technology and implementation approaches for bio-based processes and products and thus provide translation concepts for future measures to close the loop and increase efficiency.

Would you like to take part in the pilot analyses to strengthen the future viability of your company?
