Finally clear through the certification jungle - with TransBIB's flexible learning modules
Certification systems play a central role in the credibility and transparency of the bioeconomy. They provide orientation for companies, politicians and consumers - from the extraction of raw materials to the finished product.
TransBIB offers a series of asynchronous learning units (ALE) to present this complex topic in an understandable and practical way. These are divided into several parts:
ALE 1 Basics of biomass certification (in german) [available here]
ALE 2 Forestry Timber (Focus: Buildings) [available soon in the One-Stop-Shop]
ALE 3 chemicals [promptly available in the One-Stop-Shop]
ALE 4 plastics [promptly available in the One-Stop-Shop]
Self-study [available promptly in the One-Stop-Shop]
A basic unit ALE 1 provides a general overview of the background, functioning, objectives and significance of bioeconomy certification systems;
Building on this, three in-depth modules explain the specific requirements in the areas of chemistry, forestry-wood (focus: buildings) and plastics.
The new learning units are flexibly available online in the form of Power Point presentations set to music and are aimed at anyone who wants to gain a sound understanding of the role of certification in the bioeconomy;
"ALE 1 Basics" is available on the TransBIB training website. To use the entire ALE series, please visit the TransBIB-OSS. There are also some exercises including solutions to test your new knowledge within a self-study programme.
