FrankfurtRheinMain
Utilising residual materials/exploiting potential/closing cycles
The FrankfurtRhineMain metropolitan region promotes innovative technologies for the sustainable utilisation of biogenic residual and waste streams. The region, which includes parts of Hesse, Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate, unites a strong industry in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food sectors.
The most important players in the region include the BioBall innovation centre and Technologieland Hessen.

Projects
Stakeholders
The metropolitan region works together with numerous industries that can produce and/or utilise biomass, biogenic residues and waste materials as well as CO2 and thus leverage new value creation potential. These include, for example, agriculture and forestry, the food, textile, construction, chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, fuel and waste management industries. The innovative linking of these industries supports a cycle-orientated use of bio-based resources and promotes an urban bioeconomy in the metropolitan region.
