The Biberach - Donau-Iller-Riß region of excellence is characterised by strong economic growth, primarily shaped by large and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as global market leaders as well as start-ups. The pharmaceutical industry and innovative construction and energy companies are particularly relevant for the industrial bioeconomy in this region. More than 40 companies specialising in the pharmaceutical, construction and energy sectors are already active in the region in relation to the industrial bioeconomy.
