Thanks to the combination of a strong industrial production base, export orientation and research expertise, the Stuttgart Region is ideally placed to position itself as a model region for the bioeconomy. Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (WRS) therefore sees the bioeconomy as a promising component of future-oriented location development and is currently paving the way through targeted activities to be a pioneer in a rapidly growing global market for bio-based solutions, products and innovations.

With the "Stuttgart Region Industrial Bioeconomy Strategy" project, which was completed in 2024, and the current "BioCORES" cluster project, important steps are being taken in the Stuttgart Region to establish a network and promote the industrial bioeconomy. The aim is to make the bioeconomy in the Stuttgart Region visible through targeted activities and to raise and further develop the potential of innovative ideas and projects.
